Started by Lexxe on 06/23/2017 12:44pm

I have been in excruciating pain, numbness that I have never experienced! Mr right side in arm & hand & both sides of my face are numb. I'm a leftie and experiencing numbness hand, arm and shaking. So scared had a seizure 4 weeks ago. So upset can't work! My career was in IT @ Digital marketing. Can't sit or work on my computer. Had 2 discectomy 4-6 and a cadaver bone to replace C-5 vertebrae. Am I going to be disabled for the rest of my life?

Lexxe, you sound frantic and in a great deal of pain! Have you considered going to the emergency room? How long since your cervical discectomy and fusion? What has your surgeon said about these continuing symptoms? I had an acdf at C5-C7 in 2014. I was surprised at the intensity of the surgery and recovery, and the anxiety and some depression that followed. Is it the same for you?

Hi, Lexxe--we are so sorry to read about the pain you're experiencing! You should tell your surgeon about any new symptoms you're experiencing after surgery--particularly neurological symptoms (like the new numbness you have). Please let us know how you're doing.
