Severe neck pain from massage

Started by Michiganmom on 01/16/2013 2:56am

Hi. I had a massage with a new therapist almost two weeks ago. During the session he had me lay on my back while he worked on my neck. He used accupressure (his fingers into my neck held my head up). This was incredibly painful and both arms down to fingertips went numb. He said it was releasing tension. I told him to stop. I was very sore after and it has increased daily. I have an appointment with a chiropractor now tomorrow. Does anyone know what could have happened? I don't get regular massages or go to a chiropractor. This was a gift and I am now incurring expense to fix a problem that didn't exist before. My neck was not sore before I had massage.
