About Amer Samdani, MD

Dr. Amer Samdani is a board certified Neurosurgeon and Chief of Surgery at Shriners Hospitals for Children in Philadelphia, PA. His clinical interests include fusionless surgical techniques to treat scoliosis and complex spinal deformities.

Dr. Samdani received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins Medical School in Baltimore, MD where he completed his neurosurgery residency. He completed two Research Fellowships; one at Cornell University Medical College in the Stem Cell Laboratory and a second at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Intraoperative MRI. Dr. Samdani’s third Fellowship at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia in Pediatric Neurosurgery followed a Traveling Fellowship in Spinal Deformity through the Scoliosis Research Society.

Dr. Samdani serves on the Board of Directors of the Scoliosis Research Society, Harms Study Group and Children’s Spine Group. His spinal deformity research has been published in more than 150 papers.
