About Kyle Babick, PhD

Kyle Babick, PhD, is a clinical and rehabilitation psychologist, in full-time private practice in Dallas, Texas. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, where he also completed his internship and continues to serve as Clinical Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Science.

Dr. Babick maintains a practice in adult clinical and rehabilitation psychology, with emphasis on assessment and treatment of psychological issues in physical injury, disability, chronic pain, and surgery. He has been in private practice since 1988.

Furthermore, he is the Clinical Director for PsychGroup, a nationwide network of behavioral health providers serving the workers’ compensation market. In addition to direct healthcare services, he is a consultant and peer reviewer for insurance carriers and rehabilitation consultants, an expert witness, and offers practice management consultation in the area of workers' compensation.

For many years, he served as the Texas Psychological Association liaison to the Texas Workers' Compensation Commission (TWCC) and chaired the Texas Psychological Association task force on Workers' Compensation Treatment Guidelines. He is former chairman of the Texas Psychological Association Health Care Council and Workers' Compensation Committee. He has served on multiple advisory committees at TWCC and Division of Workers’ Compensation (DWC), and was an alternate TWCC Medical Advisory Committee member.

Currently, Dr. Babick is a consultant for the DWC Office of the Medical Advisor. He has served on the Designated Doctor Training faculty. His long-term interest in evidence-based practice led to his current position on the Editorial Advisory Board of the Official Disability Guidelines – Treatment in Workers’ Comp (Work Loss Data Institute). He frequently provides educational seminars to insurance carriers, healthcare providers, and rehabilitation consultants on mental and behavioral health issues in the workers’ compensation system.
