About M. Neil Woodall, MD

M. Neil Woodall is a neurosurgery resident at the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia where he graduated cum laude with an AB in philosophy. He earned his MD at Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, GA, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha as a junior medical student.

Dr. Woodall's research interests including hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), perforating head trauma, spine fusion techniques, endovascular neurosurgery, microsurgical anatomy, and the surgical treatment of facial pain. His research has been presented at regional, national, and international meetings, including the Georgia Neurosurgical Society, Southern Neurosurgical Society, Congress of Neurological Surgeons(CNS), American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), and the HHT Scientific Conference in Kemer, Turkey.  He has written and published a number of articles in peer-reviewed surgical and medical journals.

He had the opportunity to complete an elective year of training in complex spine surgery under the guidance of Dr. H.F. Choudhri with an emphasis on revision spine surgery and the treatment of cervical deformity.

Dr. Woodall’s clinical interests include cerebrovascular and endovascular neurosurgery.  He plans to seek fellowship training in these areas at the end of his residency.
