About Douglas C. Burton, MD
Dr. Douglas Burton is the Marc and Elinor Asher Spine Professor and Vice Chairman, Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. Additionally, he is the Co-Medical Director of the University of Kansas Hospital Operating Rooms.
Dr. Burton’s practice is at the Marc A. Asher, MD, Comprehensive Spine Center, which is part of The University of Kansas Health System, where he specializes in adult and pediatric spinal disorders and diseases.
Dr. Burton received his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern School of Medicine in Dallas, TX. He completed his orthopaedic residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center and two spine fellowship programs: Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA and Texas Back Institute in Plano, TX.
