Spinal stenosis is the largest single-growing patient demographic in spine.1 By the year 2020, it is projected that the number of patients diagnosed with spinal stenosis will double to 2.4 million representing a substantial opportunity for surgeons who diagnose and treat these patients.
A vast majority of LSS patients continue to choose non-surgical treatment and avoid surgery despite having a progressive, clinically significant disease. Based on the response from the SPORT study, "Surgery for spinal stenosis has been shown to be more effective compared to nonoperative treatment."2
