Sertaraline (Zoloft)

Zoloft is the brand name for sertaraline. This prescription medication is an anti-depressant used to treat depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic attacks, post-traumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder (fear of interacting with others). Depressive disorders may affect patients with back or neck pain, especially when pain is chronic. Sertraline is in a class of anti-depressants called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Zoloft works by increasing the amounts of serotonin, a natural substance in the brain that helps maintain mental balance.
