Jacqueline did a research study for her Masters thesis on a program that she designed for back pain prevention. She has presented this research twice for the American College of Sports Medicine. Additionally, her research will be published in a peer reviewed journal by the National Strength & Conditioning Association in May 2005. Jacqueline currently teaches her program in the employee wellness department at Cal State Fullerton. She is also a master trainer for Resistaball®, which involves training & certifying fitness professionals on the use of stability balls.
At the age of 14, Jacque was diagnosed with Scoliosis. As a result of this, most of her back was fused and realigned with two Harrington rods. Her success in managing Scoliosis with exercise has been featured in an article she wrote for Shape Magazine. This led to an invitation by the magazine for her to participate in a pilot program, where she served as a mentor to one of their readers. Consequently, she was in two more articles that highlighted the results of the program.
Jacqueline’s personal training focus is on posture, spinal stability, balance and injury prevention. She works primarily with special populations & those who are coming out of physical therapy. Many of her clients have conditions that affect their backs, such as, Scoliosis, disc problems or conditions that have resulted in surgical procedures. She helps her clients to modify their exercise programs accordingly.
