About Our Practice

Dr. Schaeffer believes that over 90% of all neck and back pain can be successfully treated without surgery. He focuses on finding the cause of the pain and finds that with proper education of the patient and administration of specific treatments, pain can be alleviated. Treatment begins with a thorough examination and may include diagnostic testing, a comprehensive physical therapy plan, oral and topical medications, fluoroscopically guided epidural injections and alternative therapeutic exercise programs. Emphasis is placed on getting patients back to a healthy level of function and resuming the activities that they enjoy as quickly as possible. .
Dr. Schaeffer completed his specialty training at Stanford University in Stanford, California. At the University's Interventional Spine Center he learned and performed the most advanced techniques of fluoroscopic guided injections used in the treatment of spine pain. After residency, he has worked in private practice concentrating on the treatment of patients with neck and back pain.
He is a member of numerous professional organizations including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine, and the International Spinal Intervention Society.
