Dr. Lim graduated summa cum laude (highest honors) from Harvard College and obtained his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the world-renowned Hospital for Special Surgery, in New York, NY. He completed additional training in spine surgery at the Rothman Institute-Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA, with some of the leading experts in the field of spine surgery.

Dr. Lim performs spinal surgery using modern advanced techniques including minimally invasive surgery, microsurgical decompression, complex spinal instrumentation, and non-fusion motion-sparing alternatives.

Dr. Lim has been involved in research at the Harvard Biological Laboratories, Harvard-Thorndike Laboratories, and the Orthopaedic Research Laboratory at the Hospital for Special Surgery. As an Asst. Professor at the UNC School of Medicine, he teaches medical students, trains the next generation of orthopaedic surgeons, and is actively involved in research. He has authored numerous scientific articles and has presented his research nationally and internationally.
