About Our Practice

Taipei Medical University - Shuang Ho Hospital
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery

Officially opened on July 1st, 2008, Taipei Medical University Shuang-Ho Hospital is the first Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) project (construction/operation/management) commissioned by the Department of Health, Executive Yuan. It has 1,580 beds and is the largest hospital in Taipei County. Now, Shuang-Ho Hospital, Taipei Medical University Hospital, and Taipei Medical University Wan-Fang Hospital form a medical health care triangle in the Taipei area with a total capacity of 3,000 beds. This triangle and the Taipei Medical University support each other.

The hospital treats patients with severe medical conditions and plans to have 125 intensive care beds (for internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, neonatal, and ER), 4 burn care beds, and 18 operating rooms. It currently has 54 intensive care beds and 11 operating rooms. The emergency ambulance helipad on the rooftop is the first for medical use in Taipei County, and can support Air Emergency Medical Services (Air-EMS) nationwide and aerial emergency transport for some remote areas. Meanwhile, the advanced remote video monitoring and surveillance system provides off-shore island medical personnel prompt emergency medical assistance and serves to determine whether aerial medical transport is needed by critically ill patients
