About Our Practice
Neurosurgeon Lawrence H. Fink, M.D., FACS is among the first to bring microsurgical and minimally invasive surgical techniques to those suffering back and neck pain. Dr. Fink trained at Mayo Clinic, and subsequently served as Assistant Chief of Neurosurgery and Director of Neurosurgical Research and Education at the Bethesda Naval Hospital, National Naval Medical Center; and Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at The George Washington University Medical Center. He is one of the first surgeons in Florida to perform minimally invasive and laser assisted endoscopic surgery for lumbar disc protrusion; one of the first to use bioactive substitutes (instead of the patient's own iliac crest bone) for fusion in the neck; and to advocate threaded cage fusion of the lumbar spine. Dr. Fink has presented several highly regarded papers before international conferences detailing the results of such innovative techniques.
The practice emphasizes individual patient care and does not accept restrictions imposed by HMOs. Dr. Fink specializes in microsurgical and minimally invasive endoscopic techniques, as well as state-of-the-art procedures for cervical and lumbar fusion. These techniques allow smaller incisions and reduced involvement of normal areas of the body, which generally means less time under anesthesia and a quicker recovery period.
