About Our Practice
I was fortunate to receive my Neurosurgical training in an institution (University of Texas Health Science Center - San Antonio) in which the Neurosurgical Department performed all the complex spine surgery, including almost all the trauma, tumor, complex degenerative, and spine infection surgeries and instrumentation surgery. Our program was one of the neurosurgery programs in the country that had an extra year of training which allowed what was essentially an unofficial fellowship in complex spine surgery including instrumentation from the skull to the sacrum.
After beginning my private practice, I began extensive research into what is the cutting edge of current spine surgical practice - the comprehensive and integrated treatment of spinal disorders, including isolated low back pain. These include surgical and non-surgical treatment options, including adjuncts such as chiropractic, physical therapy, accupuncture, pain management technology, and minimally invasive surgical techniques as well as complex spine surgical techniques. We use tests such as discograms, MRI, and myelograms to help with management decisions as well as frequently using neuropsychologic evaluations to assist us in treating the whole patient, not just a part of their spine.
Our Goal at SPINE Arkansas is to treat all our patients like our friends and neighbors, because we believe they are. I am proud to have the best office staff in the world. They are second to none in bending over backwards to help in making your experience as pleasant as possible and helping you to be seen in the most expeditious fashion possible. Dr. Terry Barnett, D.C. specializes in chiropractic treatment of spinal disorders amenable to that treatment, as well as being certified in the Ancient Art of Accupuncture. We have a firm belief that back and neck pain is not all the same and cannot sucessfully be treated in all cases by the same method. A coordinated and integreted approach among specialists with differing expertises is the most likely one to result in patient improvement in the most cost-effective and minimally invasive way.
