Dr. Joseph Lam is neurosurgeon in private practice. He is also the Honorary Associate Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and Honorary Consultant Neurosurgeon in Prince of Wales Hospital. His practices provides minimal invasive spine surgery and non-surgical treatment of spinal conditions including spinal tumour, trauma, degenerative diseases, prolapsed lumbar disc, spondylolisthesis, spinal stenosis and scoliosis, facet joint pain, discogenic back pain.
Neurosurgery is a specialty of surgery which provides the critical care, prevention, diagnosis, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of neurological disorders. The surgical treatments provided include Minimal invasive lumbar discectomy using percutaneous Hydrocision, Full Endoscopic Lumbar Discectomy or microendoscopic lumbar discectomy MED. Dynamic lumbar stabilization devices: DSS, Coflex, DIAM, InSpace, X-stop; lumbar disc nucleus replacement (Satellite). Minimal invasive spinal fixation and fusion include: minimal invasive transforaminal lumbar intervertebral fusion (mTLIF), Minimal invasive anteriolateral lumbar intervertebral fusion, Cervical discectomy and fusion, artificial cervical disc replacement, and spinal cord stimulation for pain, removal of spine tumours, Minimal invasive treatment of osteoporotic fracture (Kyphoplasty, vertebral stent insertion and vertebroplaty).Spinal fixation for scoliosis and subtraction osteotomy for focal kyphotic deformity. Radiofrequency neurolysis for facet joint pain, biacuplasty for lumbar discogenic back pain.
