About Our Practice

Lawrenceville Family Chiropractic provides chiropractic adjustments using the Activator Methods and Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic techniques. Atlas Orthogonal adjustments are gentle, highly specific adjustments to the upper cervical spine. This area consists of the base of the skull, called the occiput; the first cervical vertebra, commonly nicknamed "the atlas"; and the second cervical vertebra, also known as "the axis". Misalignments in this area can lead to conditions such as headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, muscle tension, and more serious conditions such as migraines and fibromyalgia. The Atlas Orthogonal approach consists of: an examination to determine if this upper cervical area is misaligned, X-Rays to determine the specific pattern of misalignment (every person's atlas misaligns slightly differently; in fact every X-ray listing, the way your individual spine misaligns, is as unique to you as your fingerprint), and a gentle adjustment to the atlas using a table mounted instrument. Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique (AMCT) is a unique way to address misalignments in all other areas of the spine. Evolved from nearly 40 years of empirical study and 15 years of clinical research and incorporating the latest advances in orthopedic, neurological and chiropractic examinations, this technique uses an analysis system consisting of leg checks and muscle tests to determine areas of joint dysfunction in the spinal column and extremities. Then, the handheld Activator Adjusting Instrument is used to give low-force chiropractic adjustments. This technique is safe and effective for all ages and can be used to treat many conditions such as lower back pain, disc problems, sciatica, carpal tunnel syndrome, and whiplash among many others.

In our office, we also use Low Level Laser Technology (LLLT), proven to accelerate healing, in order to improve patient recovery time and reduce pain. This amazing technology perfectly complements the chiropractic adjusting procedures used in our office.

We also have 2 certified massage therapists available with over 15 years combined experience. In addition to decreasing muscle inflammation and spasm, massage therapy can improve circulation, boost immunity, and promote relaxation. Our therapists work in conjunction with our doctor to ensure that treatment goals are being met for each patient.
