Dr. Brown specializes in Neuromusculoskeletal conditions and Science-based Nutrition. She was the founder of Integrated Health Care in Palo Alto over 15 years ago with the purpose of utilizing various modalities for correcting spinal trauma, dysfunction and pain. She has a unique approach to healing and integrates physiotherapy modalities to control pain and reduce inflammation and to re-educate the nervous system. Intersegmental traction is used for the correction of scoliosis, herniated discs and to reduce scar tissue that developed as a result of chronic muscle hypertonicity. Gentle manipulation is used to correct spinal segmental dysfunction. Adjunctive therapy is used for muscle relaxation or to reduce inflammation, such as cryotherapy or infrared and myofascial release. Because the body becomes nutritionally starved through trauma, Dr. Brown also practices Functional Medicine and will prescribe nutraceuticals to replenish cellular depletion to expedite the healing process.
