About Our Practice
We are a evidence-based mulch-specialty chiropractic and rehabilitation clinic specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of spine conditions, sports injuries, work injuries and automobile-related injuries. Our practice employs the latest therapeutic solutions and we are committed to providing the highest quality, but cost-effective patient care. Our conservative management approach is a medically supervised combination of Active Release Techniques(ART), spinal manipulation/decompression and specific exercise and functional rehabilitation.
ART is a cutting-edge soft-tissue management system that diagnoses and eliminates scar tissue and adhesion formation within muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia that are commonly associated with repetitive motion and cumulative trauma disorders. The combination of ART with specific functional rehabilitation has proven through research to be the most clinically and cost-effective means of treating musculoskeletal pain and preventing unwanted surgery. ART is widely used by the sports medicine staffs of most professional sports teams, NCAA athletic programs and Olympic teams. ART providers are also the primary providers for all Ironman Triatholon events.
Dr. Pedro is one of only a few full body certified and credentialed ART providers in the State and he has extensive post-graduate training in orthopedics, sports medicine, radiology and rehabilitation as well. We work closely with all local primary care physicians and musculoskeletal specialists including orthopedic surgeons, neurosurgeons, physical medicine and pain management physicians. We also have on-site x-ray and work closely with all local imaging centers when we need to refer for advanced imaging such as CT scans, MRI's, arthrograms, bone scans, bone density testing and neurodiagnostic testing .
Out treatment plans are specifically tailored to each individual and treatment duration ranges from a few visits for simple problems to a few months for more complex conditions.
We have two convenient offices, one in the west end of Hartford and one in the Evergreen Walk area of South Windsor. Dr. Pedro is a preferred provider for most workers compensation panels and most major health insurance companies including but not limited to BC/BS, Aetna, United Healthcare, Connecticare,Cigna, Healthnet, Oxford, PHCS, Multiplan.
