Approved Uses
- Treatment
of susceptible fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails,
such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea barbae, tinea corporis,
tinea capitis, or tinea unguium.
- Prior
to therapy, the type of fungi causing the infection should be
identified.
Contraindications
Any of the following may be reason to choose a different drug.
Inform your doctor before starting therapy.
- Hypersensitivity
to griseofulvin
- Known
or suspected pregnancy
- Severe
liver disease
- Porphyria
- Lupus
erythematosus or lupus-like syndromes
