Answer:
No question is a stupid question when you’re facing surgery. You have a right to know everything that’s going to happen before, during, and after the surgery, and you also have a right to have all the risks and benefits fully explained to you.
Surgery is like any other major decision in your life, and before you buy a house or a car (or in this economy, buy gas for your car), you probably do your research and try to understand everything you can—even if that means asking “stupid” or “obvious” questions of someone who knows more than you do.
