SpineUniverse Editorial Board Member Barth A. Green, MD Inducted into the 2006 Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) Hall of Fame™

Boca Raton, FL - December 15, 2006

At the second annual Spinal Cord Injury Hall of Fame™ induction ceremony, Barth A. Green, MD was inducted into the 2006 SCI Hall of Fame™ for Research in Basic Science. The induction ceremony and gala was held at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. Dr. Green is the co-founder and president of The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis. The Miami Project is the largest and most productive spinal cord injury and paralysis research center in the world.

In 2005, the SCI Hall of Fame℣ was formed by the National Spinal Cord Injury Association (NSCIA). Dr. Green became involved with the NSCIA during the early 1970's and served on the organization's board for years.

Upon receiving his medal, Dr. Green humbly recognized the diligent work of others. He said, "I accept this on behalf of the scientists and colleagues not only at The Miami Project but around the world who truly believe it isn't a matter of if, it's a matter of when."
