Verified Practice Listings on SpineUniverse
Before any healthcare professional’s listing is approved on SpineUniverse, we put it through a rigorous review process. We confirm that they are licensed through the appropriate State Medical Licensing Board, and we verify that they are in good standing.
At SpineUniverse, we check licenses for:
- DOs (doctors of osteopathy)
- DCs (doctors of chiropractic)
- PTs (physical therapists)
- RNs and NPs (registered nurses and nurse practitioners)
We also make every effort to verify healthcare professionals who don’t fall into one of those categories. Published scholarly research, for example, can be used as verification.
To check spine professionals’ licenses, SpineUniverse uses search tools and listings provided by the appropriate licensing board for each specialty. For any healthcare professional who wants to be listed in the SpineUniverse Find a Specialist directory, we check and verify:
- their name and contact information
- that their license is active in the state where they practice
- that they have no restrictions on their license—restrictions that would keep them from practicing
We verify a healthcare professional’s credentials when they first apply for a listing in the SpineUniverse Find a Specialist Directory. Then, when the listing is up for renewal, we always re-check credentials and licensing.
