About Our Practice:
Academic Neurosurgical Spine Practice in Providence RI. Working in conjunction with other specialists, we provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for patients with a myriad of spinal disorders. Working with physiatrists, pain specialists, physical therapists and chiropractors, we devise programs for the conservative management of many spinal disorders such as disc herniations, spinal stenosis and low back pain. Only after patients have not responded to these less invasive measures do we recommend surgical intervention. As a fellowship-trained spine neurosurgeon, I offer my patients not only an expertise in microsurgical techniques used in resecting tumors of the spinal cord, or in performing microdiscectomies for decompression of nerves, but also the complex biomechanical understanding of the spine required for spinal stabilizations and fusion procedures including minimally-invasive procedures. Finally, for patients with spinal tumors and metastatic cancer to the spine we utilize a multimodality approach including surgery, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, radiation therapy and stereotactic radiosurgery using the Cyberknife in their treatment.
