About Our Practice:
The mission of Brandon Pain Medicine, the pain medicine practice of Dr. Rafael Miguel, is to provide comprehensive, evidence-based pain management delivered in an appropriate and compassionate manner. Dr. Miguel is one of the first pain medicine physicians in Hillsborough County, providing pain management care for 24 years at the University of South Florida, including Directorship of the USF Pain Medicine Fellowship training program for 10 years. The knowledge gained over that time provides for a solid base from which to diagnose and establish an effective and mutually acceptable pain management treatment plan. All types of pain are treated. After a thorough initial history and physical examination with a review of available radiologic studies (if done, if not, some may be ordered) and discussed, an appropriate treatment plan is discussed with the patient and approved. Medical and Interventional (injections) management are selected, based on the patients' condition and preference.
