Dr. Tae M Shin is a board certified, fellowship-trained spine surgeon at The Los Angeles Orthopaedic Center.

The Los Angeles Orthopaedic Center is located in Downtown Los Angeles and is a major referral center for the Southern California Region.

Dr. Shin received his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate degree in Biology, magna cum laude, at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Shin completed his residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the State University of New York Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in Spinal Surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston which is affiliated with Tufts University Medical Center.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery.

Dr. Shin has particular experience providing a comprehensive care for all adult spinal disorders utilizing the most advanced rehabilitation program and minimally invasive surgical techniques. He specializes in the treatment of complex spinal disorders of the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Dr. Shin provides comprehensive care for patients with stenosis, sciatica, herniated disc, scoliosis, kyphosis, compression fractures, spondylolisthesis, and degenerative low back pain. Commonly performed procedures include laminectomy, fusion, laminoplasty, microdiscectomy, kyphoplasty, vertebroplasy, cervical discectomy, corpectomy, and spinal osteotomy. Dr. Shin uses the lastest technology including computer guided navigation surgey, minimally invasive surgery, artificial disc replacement, and percutaneous surgery. Dr.Shin has provided consultation advise for development of new treatments in fractures of the spine and extremity bones.
