About Our Practice:
Dr. Akin's practice includes surgery of the spine, brain and peripheral nerves. With regard to spine surgery, the most common surgeries performed are cervical and lumbar laminectomies for decompression, cervical and lumbar fusions, and surgery for spinal tumors and fractures. Dr. Akin also performs surgery for brain tumors, pituitary tumors, shunt procedures for hydrocephalus in adults, surgery for Chiari malformation, carpal tunnel and ulnar nerve decompression.
