About Our Practice:
Dr. Charles C. Edwards II received his education at Washington
& Lee University, graduating with Phi Beta Kappa honors in Engineering, and
the University of Maryland School of Medicine, graduating with AOA honors.
Dr. Edwards II completed his Orthopaedic Surgical Residency
at Emory University in Atlanta and received advanced training in the management of adult and pediatric spinal deformity at Washington University in St. Louis. Research interests include the management of nerve compression disorders in the cervical spine and the treatment of major spinal deformities in children and adults. Dr Edwards has been the invited presenter of over thirty papers at national scientific meetings. He is an author of twenty-three research papers and textbook chapters. Research honors include the Best Clinical Paper at the European Cervical Spine Research Society Meeting.
Dr Edwards II brings to the Maryland Spine Center special expertise in the areas of minimally invasive spine surgery and microscopic techniques. In addition he has an extensive background and expertise in the the treatment of scoliosis spondylolisthesis (spondyloptosis) and complex degenerative conditions.
