About Our Practice:
Dr. Khurana is a fellowship-trained, board-certified adult and pediatric spine care specialist. His area of expertise focus on spinal reconstruction, cervical spine surgery, minimally invasive surgery, adult and pediatric scoliosis, spine trauma and tumors, and evaluation and treatment of patients with multiple failed previous surgeries. He has performed over 1700 spine surgeries spanning the entire spinal axis. Dr. Khurana completed his surgical training at Stanford University Hospitals where he garnered several national and international distinctions for spine research, including the 1999 Volvo Corporation Award for the Clinical Study of Low Back Pain. Dr. Khurana completed his orthopedic/neurosurgery spine fellowship at the world-renowned University of Miami/Project to Cure Paralysis. He also completed a fellowship under the preeminent pediatric spine surgeon Dr. Harry Shufflebarger. Dr. Khurana recently left Permanente Group in San Diego where he directed the Spine Surgery Division for two years.Dr. Khurana offers a comprehensive, conservative, and compassionate approach to adult and pediatric patients with spinal disorders. The vast majority of spine conditions can be treated non-operatively. If deemed necessary, surgery can be offered for a broad array of spine conditions.
