9-year-old Boy after Surgery to Treat Suspected TB of the Spine
This is a clinical photograph of a 9-year-old boy after surgery to treat a severe angular kyphosis. The picture shows a near normal appearance of his back and visualization of the neck not seen on previous pre-operative photography. He has a history of tuberculosis (TB) with suspected TB of the spine, which caused the kyphosis. Before surgery, he showed signs of early myelopathy with hyperreflexia (overactive reflexes) and difficulty running.
