Spinal Cord Injury and Procord
Proneuron Biotechnologies has developed an experimental procedure called Procord
to help patients who have sustained a recent spinal cord injury. The science behind
Procord is based on research into the mechanisms between the central nervous and
immune systems. The Procord procedure utilizes the patient's own white blood cells to
apply the power of the body's immune system in the clean up and repair process.
To date, the procedure is in Phase II of Food
and Drug Administration approved clinical trials.
In this video, the progress of a patient in the Phase I trials is followed.
