FDA Approved Uses

• Treatment of susceptible fungal infections of the skin, hair, and nails, such as tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea barbae, tinea corporis, tinea capitis, or tinea unguium.
• Prior to therapy, the type of fungi causing the infection should be identified.

Contraindications

Any of the following may be reason to choose a different drug. Inform your doctor before starting therapy.

• Hypersensitivity to griseofulvin
• Known or suspected pregnancy
• Severe liver disease
• Porphyria
• Lupus erythematosus or lupus-like syndromes
