I just turned 40...it's time to do something!
Yes, the big 40 just happened. I have not sought an official medical diagnosis or baseline with my scoliosis. I recently went to the chiropractor for neck pain, and saw the X-ray I had always dreaded to see. But there it was. No hiding it now. The chiropractor did a best guess that the curvature was at least 45 degrees. My question is..I want to do something about this year. I have a job, insurance and we all know there are no guarantees on those for the future. So I want to do something while I am young enough to recoup speedily if surgery is what I am facing. Should I start directly with a Spine Surgeon and will they be the one to do the real X-rays or MRI's needed to really open up pandora's box of what I am dealing with? I am lucky to live in the D/FW area and have discovered that we have in Plano the Baylor Scoliosis Center right here along with many other great doctors to choose. I'm just not sure where to start. Would love to hear from anyone suggesting guidance to this newly opened pandora box owner! Thanks in advance!
