Spondylolesthesis of L5-S1

Started by sjmassimino on 01/15/2011 6:48pm

I have the problem in my spine of Spondylolesthesis. It is about 30-40%
out of place. My back doesn't really bother me, its the Sciatic nerve that drive me crazy. Is there a medicine out there other than the injections in the back to stop it? I have tried muscle relaxers, Oxycodone, Neurotin and nothing helps but the shots. The injections don't last 3 months, the pain is just less severe. I am really frustrated. Physical therapy did not help at all either. The pain is debilitating unless I lay flat in bed. Any ideas???

The pain ad symptoms you have sound very similar to mine. Its funny just today I found the answer to that. I have tried all types of medicine like you they didnt work. The only medicine that does help is 400 to 600 mg of IBprophen and Tylenol with Codeine. Tylenol doesnt help at all and I have been wondering if the codeine made that much of a difference. I found a website today that said the only two medicines that work for sciatic pain are IBprophen and Codiene and I thought wow those are the only ones ive tried that have worked. I got my tylenol with codiene from a dentist about a year ago I take it only if I cant walk and the ibprophrn twice a day. hope this helps Good luck.

Thank you so much for your help. Next doctor visit I am asking for a prescription. Lets pray it helps me. I cant believe how this condition has taken over my life!
