L3-L5 Fusion and Recovery

I had in 2008 a L5-S1 Fusion in which I did pretty good for about 5 months then something popped so for 1 year 1/2 2 xrays 2 mri,s from therapy of all sorts till my doctor decided to go up 2 more levels.So Jan.17 2010 I had a L3-L5 Fusion with Severe Stenosis in L3-L4, Today March 20 2 months out I am in a lot of Pain although I am walking as much as I can tolerate but My Doctor tells me I Am going to be in pain for a while! A lot of Hip Pain and where I had the Surgery! I am also on the back side of Pneumonia with all that coughing causing back and hip pain.

Sounds like you are having a heck of a time. I have not had fusion surgery but a couple of good friends have. One did the trick first time the other had to go back in to have more work done. Both said it took a good 7 months to a year to recover and that it was a rocky road.

However,if you are concerned it might be best to contact you doctor just to make sure all is OK. Pnenmonia can't be good.....do you sneeze?? Must be painful!
