need advice on MRI

Started by 100002079490634... on 01/17/2014 1:01pm

Hello, I am new to this and have never posted on a web site about health issues before. I will start off with a brief overview. I am a 38 year old female who had a laminectomy at L5-S1 in Oct. 2013. Went well for about a month, then started having pain again down leg into foot, which is constant. Physical therapist stopped therapy and I just had a mri again and am currently waiting on my DR. appt. next week. In the meantime I have gotten the results of my mri but even after seeing many of these this one is very confusing and I was wondering if someone could give me a little clarification on these results.
Findings: Lumbar vertebral body height, alignment, bone marrow signal is generally maintained. Remote mild to wedge deformities present at T11, with approx. 30 % loss of height anteriorly, and 15 degrees kyphotic curvature. Mild disc bulging at that level is present, without a definte conus compression, Minimal bulging is present at T12-L1, L1-L2
Diffuse mild disc bulging at L4-L5 is associated with a peripheral annular hyperintense zone. Facet hypertrophy and ligamentum flavum infolding contributes to mild to moderate subarticular compromise, left greater than right.
At L5-S1 partial laminectomy on the left has bee performed and prominent epidural granulation tissue present at the laminectomy site and surrounding the thecal sac. A nonenhancing component extends from the disc space into the epidural fat central-left, and into the epidural granulation tissue. Hypertrophic endplate spurring is associated with left lateral foraminal and subarticular protrusion, with moderate uncompromised. Rightward bulging is associated with a mild right subarticular and an foraminal compromise. There is facet joint tropism, with the right articular facet joint more transversely oriented than the left.
1. Partial Laminectomy Left L5-S1, with suspected recurrent disc herniation central left.
2. Mild symmetric bulging at all 45 with peripheral annular hyperintense zone.
3. Chronic wedge deformity T11 with adjacent disc bulging and mild kyphotic curvature suspected.

I understand that I have a recurrent disc hernation at my surgery site but, the other stuff bothers me and I don't understand it. If anyone can help break down what this means for me and possible treatment with everything grouped together I would appreciate it. Trying to see what I am looking at for next week to prepare myself with questions for my dr. Any help is appreciated.
