Need Help On Cervical Issues......

Started by stormy7070 on 04/15/2010 1:54am

I am a 39 yr old mother and home maker. In 2006 I was diagnosed with disc herniations at C5-6 and C6-7. with spinal cord compression and nerve compretions. I went under surgery January 07. and the procedure was through the front of me neck. they did bone grafty use my own bone do to being a smoker. then a vertical plate and three screws were put in place to hold fusion. All this was done and then I was fine for a year and a half. Then in the middle of 09 I started getting headaches back and right shoulder pain and stiffness and nneck pain and between shoulder blades. the doctor did another MRI and noticed my C6-7 fusion did not take and my C4-5 was bulging and was 3mm. The doctor said nothing was wrong with C4-5 and would probably heal. but C6-7 needed fixed or I would continue to have problems. I was the diagnosed with osteopynia, and bone degenerative diease. My primary doctor was informed and would do the surgery the summer of 2010 because it was copable. October I was hit again in a accident that agervative my neck with whiplash and was put in a hard colar..... The nerosurgeon said I would have to have the surgery by December. My new MRI's showed same problem no change but C4-5 was 3mm bulging with endplate osteophytic spurring anteriorly and posteriorly with compression of the ventral dural sac. with mild foraminal narrowing bilaterally. Now second surgery was done December 09 but he only fixed C6-7 and this time the surgery was done through my back of my neck and i have lateral plate and screws and wire to hold another bone graft useing my bone again. The problems are all back again with shoulder blades, right shoulder and the neck. I'm still in server pain and the headaches are unbarable. Is this caused by C4-5 not being fixed when he did the second surgery. what does C4-5 was 3mm bulging with endplate osteophytic spurring anteriorly and posteriorly with compression of the ventral dural sac. with mild foraminal narrowing bilaterally. actually mean. and will i need a third surgery.... Please help I'm a mother of two and now I'm really worried because i'm not getting any better.
