New to community and have spinal stenosis neuropathy and Fibromyalgia.

From: clwhite - on 09/08/2010 9:47pm

Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello to all. I am 39 and have recently been told I have spinal stenosis and neuropathy along with fibromyalgia. I am living daily with pain but dealing and coping as well as I can. I am going to a pain doctor to get the steroid shot to see if it works. I pray it will cause I really do not want to have surgery if at all possible but do not want to live in pain all the time either.

hi- i have a multitude of cervical & lumber diagnoses, fibro and peripheral neuropathy myself, so i know what you are going thru. did you get a steroid shot and did it help you? i have had several in my shoulders, one in c spine and they did not help at all. actually worse for nearly a week afterwards, plus tons of hot flashes.

I'm also new here. I have fibro, and psoriatic arthritis...I understand the pain all the time. I was diagnosed in January with spinal stenosis with myelopathy, a bulging disc, pinched nerves and spinal cord damage. I was almost in a wheelchair, I was so severly crippled. I had the surgery in February (it's now almost July) I have neuropathy from shoulders to toes, but I am half better and move better than I was pre-surgery. My neurologist was a fool and never saw the damage that was done and had let it go on from my first symtoms in 8/10. My rheumotolgist is the one that sent me to the neurosurgeon. I FEEL BLESSED FOR HAVING THE SURGERY!!
