Having Surgery

Started by 689865926@facebook on 01/18/2015 7:10pm

Hello everyone, this is the first time I have ever posted on a Site.

I am scheduled to have two stage surgery in February. The first is to remove 8 disc's through my left side (by the waist ) and replace with bone building materials and the 2nd is 2 days later wherein they go through the back and remove/replace another discount and do then attach titanium rods. I wish I didn't have to do this but I'm told I will be paralyzed if I don’t.
I have osteoarthritis and degenerative disc disease and have had scoliosis all my life as well. Since November 2013 my back has deteriorated greatly. About 4 weeks ago my leg started shaking for no apparent reason and I mean shaking.
I went to my doctor who said that I have spinal cord injury which has caused spasticity. I have to have an MRI on January 31st to try and work out where the injury is.
Has anyone experienced spasticity and can it be fixed? I am 59 years old. Has anyone had all this happen to them and what the outcome was? Thank you.
