Anyone else w/ DDD have a tender spot on your spine?

Started by Lynn1974 on 05/03/2012 6:53pm

I have DDD and a herniation at L5-S1. I'm having an ALIF done on May 22nd. There's one symptom that I have that I haven't seen listed anywhere. Sometimes when I'm having a bad pain day, the problem part of my spine seems hypersensitive to touch. Any pressure hurts and feels weird, makes my skin crawl. I can't even lean back in a chair because I can't stand for anything to touch that part of my spine. My PM specialist seemed surprised when I brought it up. It makes me wonder if I'm the only one. It has me a little worried. Thanks!

I also have DDD, herniated discs, spondylosis, and spondylolisthesis of the lumbar spine. When my back flares up which is very regular, I also am very sensitive to touch on my problem area of my spine. It swells up and looks bruised. I just posted my own blog looking for some answers. Hope you feel better soon after your surgery. Good luck!!!

Thank you! I feel a little less worried about it now. Thanks for the good wishes about my surgery. It sounds like you have it even worse than I do. I'll be sending good thoughts your way!
