I had a laminectomy with fusion L3,4,5 May 2009

Started by debblue on 08/03/2010 9:35pm

When I continued to have low back pain, I saw a different orthopedic surg.,and found that the lower screws were loose, so had another surgery April 2010. I have not obtained any pain relief from my last surgery. Another MRI was done, after the screws were removed, and now the M.D. is suggesting a posterior/anterior fusion, To place a plate in my back throught the front, then turning me over and placing the screws into the plate,to stabilize the L5 area.
This 3rd procedure really scares me, has any one out there ever had anything like this?? I have degenerative disc disease and scoliosis and spondylosis.
I have been a nurse for 34 years, and now my career has come to a halt. Please,if there is anyone out there that can help me,I would love to hear from you.
I also had an epidural cortisone injection, which I got good relief from ...for only one day.
