percutaneous discectomy

Started by thedeaner3 on 07/27/2010 7:22pm

Hi,
I'm 23 years old and just had a percutaneous discectomy. I had herniations at L3-L4 and L4-L5. I also have degenerative discs through my lumbar region and more moderate to sever in L3-L5 area. The disceotomy has seemed to take away the sciatic pain that was existing in my left leg. But I still have the achy feeling of bone on bone directly in my lower back. Before the percutaneous discectomy I was given to epidural steroid shots at about 4 months apart with no relief. Has anyone here had a percutaneous discectomy? And if so how has the recovery been? Also I'm looking for some advice for the disc degeneration? I'm young and normally very active, I want to not be in pain and enjoy life like i did before all of this.
Thank you for your help,
Nick
