Degenerative Disc Disease, Spinal Stenosis, Chronic Pain
I'm sure there is always someone far worse off than me. However I would like to talk about having several to many
spinal issues to deal with.
I happen to have Spinal Disc Degeneration Disease, also Spinal Stenosis, and Scoliosis and Chronic Pain & Chronic
Nerve Disorder. Most of the disabling pain that I have is from L3-L5. I also have pain in T-2& T-3. A fusion of L-4 7L-5
has been suggested but I'm not sure that will not just alert myself and the doctors for more surgical poking around.
I am now 63 about to be 64 and one Neurosurgeon suggested an entire spine "correction". When I was almost 61 he
wanted to completely section my spine and put it back together with fusions and rods and bolts and screws etc.
He was convinced this approach would repair all of L-3 to L-5 and T-2 to L-3 and repair the scoliosis and Spinal Stenosis and perhaps greatly reduce if not get rid of the Chronic Pain & Cronic Nerve Disorder.
Two other surgeons studied my back with MRI's and the first dr's plans and decided that at my age I would have less than a 30% chance of my bones growing together properly.
Anyone have any thoughts?
