Neck cracking very loud, c3/4/5/6 fused. C6/7 in fair shape
Hi, In 1993, I had c4/5, c5/6 fused. No problem. After 8-9 years, I developed chronic pain in my neck, due to adjacement segment disorder. I was in my late 30's and very active. It lasted 17 yrs and in Aug 2009 I woke up with myelopathy so severe I couldn't get out of bed. I couldn't button a shirt. I couldn't turn a door knob. I couldn't put pants on--because I couldn't lift my feet off the ground. C3/4 was fused, all problems fixed. In March 2010, I was in a car accident and fractured c2. Since then, I get this very loud cracking. Its so loud that everyone in the room can hear it. Its like someone snapping their fingers. The dr said if I ever have severe pain with this, to put my collar on and get to the ER post haste. The pain is not severe, its more like someone gets a rubber band and snaps me with it. More a stinging for a second.
I am worried, I dont like this. Its sort of like a noise in the car that you know isn't right, and then it breaks down in the middle of knowwhere. I know c6/7 isn't in great shape, and the dr thinks it is calcified or a ligament to/from it is. Has anyone ever experienced this? If so, what did you do? Are there any medical professionals out there who might have two cents to contribute to this? Thanks to all of you in advance.
