Spondylogenic fractures ?

Started by hectorlg52 on 04/29/2010 1:24am

Blessings to all. my story might have company somewhere in this community. i have had two lumbar operations and after almost twenty years ,i still do not know exactly what happened during my operations.?? I have instrumentation ,plates ,screws at the level of L-4-L-5 a bone fusion which did not take. I've seen more doctors than the hairs i have on my head.i have a neck injury from c-2 to the level of c-7,a tonsillar herniation at the level of the c-1,foramen magnum ,which is giving me problem to swallow ,lack of sleep. In addition to this, i have just been diagnosed with spondylogenic fracture of the thoracic spine. i'm constantly in pain ,but continue to live and be grateful for ever minute of life .I'm trying to do the research to see how i can afford to see Dr. from out of town ,i frankly hate the run around and am tired .

I've decided to not continue any prescribed drugs that mask my pain and frankly gives an impression of me that is not who i am. In addition i have had a mild stroke while in surgery, a heart attack in 1995. If there is Dr.that looks at this writing ,please feel free to give your opinion on the picture he or she sees from this writing. The worst of all is that i hate to complaint and because i don't ,i probably don't get the help i need.Dr.s tend to put ugly labels on patients that do complaint. I also do not appreciate the way some play with the medical vocabulary .

At this point i welcome all suggestion ,advice.I have decided to live for tomorrow with hope . This has become an never ending nightmare. May all be blessed and continue to fight the good battle that these back conditions bring to our lives.Thank you,for being so courteous and generous . bye..

Hector,
I'm sorry that you are in pain and discomfort. How many Doctors have you gone to and have looked at your MRI's? The reason I ask is it sounds like you haven't found the right physician. When I went through my back pains, i fired more doctors until i found one that had wonderful bedside manner and treated me like a person who he wanted to help and knew his stuff. Let me know.

Just wondering, have you been checked for Chiari Malformation?

I thank all who have answered or tried to answer .I seem to get no where ,Why aren't doctors up front with what they find,? They have a variety of names for the same conditions.I have gotten to the conclusion that if there are two professions that cannot be trusted, Lawyers and Doctors ,Both of this professions are given by God ,one to bring health to life and other to bring justice to life. The more Doctors are involved with lawyers the more they loose track of the hippocratic oath. My intentions is not to offend those who are true to there oath ,but so far the ones I've dealt with are one easy sell to those who lobby them.My respect to those who honor their practice .Just had to get that of my chest. To all who answered ,Get well soon and God bless You...Bye hectorlg52
