Abdomen bulge after surgey

Started by Y12 on 01/28/2010 8:24pm

After installing a cage for T12, and fusion of T9-L3, I have a bulge on the left side of my abdomen. The surgery went well, but if a nerve was cut would I get the bulge, numbness, no sweating on that side, slow bowels, and pain down Thur groin?

Hello Y12,

Finally I see someone who has the same problem like me! I am sorry to hear about you...

And I sincerely hope you see this post.

I have the same symptoms...except I do not have pain in my groin. I had a surgery 6 months ago to fuse my L1. I fractured it in a rock climbing fall. Had a burst fracture. The surgeon went in through my sides...below my lowest left rib. I now have a bulging flank that extends to the navel, an offset navel, no sensations, numbness and a general total discomfort.

Please let me know how you are doing now.
