Wrong-site surgery question
I went into surgery a week ago to have an L4-L5 spinal fusion. I came out of surgery with both that and an additional spinal fusion at L3-L4 because the surgeon made an error and operated at the L3-L4 site by mistake. Once he realized his mistake, he fused that location and then operated on the correct location. (All of this is by his admission.) My question is this: How much loss of motion and loss of activity should I reasonably expect to have had if ONLY the L4-L5 fusion had been performed? And, how much additional loss of motion/activity can I expect now that the second unwanted fusion has been performed?
