Spinal stenosis

Started by Sheila j on 06/16/2016 11:32am

I have been having treatment for spinal stenosis for round 18 months. I started off with a low dosage of gabapentin, I'm now on 1800 mls a day.12 months ag I had an epidural it was OK for a short time. I'm now advised I should have surgery but m very nervous about this. Has anyone reading this had the surgery and was it a success. I would love to hear from you. Thankyou Sheila j

I also have spinal stenosis and had 5 epidurals but they finally quit helping. I had partial laminectomy of L3 to L5 three weeks ago. Most of the leg pain has already disappeared although my right foot still goes partially numb. I have been told and have read that it can take up to a year for the numbness to go away and it may never go away completely. I am walking much better and now go for daily walks. I hadn't been able to go for walks for 2 years. I'm still healing but am very glad that I had the surgery.
