Is all my pain due to Spondylolisthesis

Started by 102066248940734... on 02/13/2016 2:55pm

I started having lower back pain about 3 years ago. After X-rays, they found spondylolisthesis at L4-5. It was about 25 %. It seemed to get better, pain wise, but the past few months I have been having a lot more pain in my back, legs, pelvic, and hips. I went back to the doctor and he said there had been no change in the slippage. He sent me for physical therapy, which I couldn't go but once because of the expense. Anyway, I have troubling standing for any amount of time, bending over, etc just about anything can cause me pain. On Christmas Day, I was sitting in a chair and reached down to pick a piece of paper up and had excruciating pain. I couldn't stand up straight, and was having to use two canes to walk, I went to an urgent care and he gave me pain shot, steroid shot and muscle relaxant. It did get better in about a week, but the pain is still there with any activity. Should I request more test or something? Could there be more going on since the pain seems to be worst than what 25% slippage would be causing. I am a 60 year old woman with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

I was just diagnosed with this after excruciating back, hip and leg pain. I believe what helps me most is to rest and try not to aggravate the pain. For most people this is hard to do but I HAVE to do it...
Hope you're better.
