severe pain after ACDF surgery at c5-c6, c6-c7

Can someone please give me some insight on acdf complications? I had an ACDF June 25th, 2014. I have 4screws, metal plate, fused with bone from my left hip. It's been seven months and the problems that I had are still there and worse. I have sharp, burning, pain ct from my neck going down my left arm to my fingers, my middle and lower back are now giving me pain, headaches, regurgitation on a daily basis, trouble swallowing, severe spasms in my left arm and hand, pain in both knees, dizziness, I've gained weight yet I eat less since the surgery. I'm still on pain meds; oxycodone 20mg, morphine 100mg and gabapentin 600mg. None of these work. I've been telling the surgeon something is wrong, but all they do I'd take xrays and say I'm fine. They cut my superior thyroid artery during the surgery but did not tell me; another doctor did. This was done at Vanderbilt medical center. I can't lay on my back, I can't sit or stand too long and I couldn't do physical therapy do the instability in my neck. 5 other doctors have refused to accept me as a patient after reading the surgical notes from my surgeon, with no reason given. I also take promethezene for the regurgitating but it stopped working about 3 months ago. I still have bilateral femoral stenosis. What can I do?

Hi, So sorry to hear that you are having to endure all this. Has your discomfort lessened at all? Have you contacted a medical malpractice attorney about the cut to your superior thyroid artery? Being that you've already gone through so much, more surgery is probably the last thing you'd want to think about. But, have you explored the possibility of artificial disc replacement?
