Mid/upper back pain for 3 months, need some help please?

Started by Jenny Wren on 01/19/2014 7:30pm

I started getting this pain in my shoulder blade and rhomboid area about three months ago. I don't remember hurting my back at all. The pain starts about an inch out away from my spine. It starts an AN ache and suddenly a sharp nerve type pain. The pain feels as though it comes through my back to my chest and across to my shoulder blade and around my ribcage below my right breast. It is triggered by sitting with my head tilted forward, scrubbing floors, running sweeper and certain degree of frontward bending. There is no knot in my back when this pain starts. It is very tender afterwards. This pain lasts anywhere from a minute to a few hours off and on. It started out just a few times a week but now it is every day. No arm weakness or numbness. What could this be?

Ask your Doc for a Lidocaine patch, sounds like you may be experiencing muscle spasms and not realize it. Mine are so severe I couldn't tell you if it's bone or muscle. The patch works best just for my intense muscle spasms...zilch for bone pain.
